Racial Justice Action: Yes on Prop 16!
August 25 @ 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm
What your white church can do to support Black liberation
A policy analysis and discussion on Proposition 16: Ending the Ban on Affirmative Action. For pastors and lay leaders.
In 1996, CA voters passed Prop 209 which banned affirmative action in California’s public institutions. Twenty-four years have passed, and California voters will decide in November whether this ban should end or continue to stand.
During the forum, we will dig into the text of both propositions and talk about how faith meets politics in this vote. Attendees will leave with the skills to do a similar policy analysis training within their congregations. Joining the Yes on Prop 16 Campaign is a concrete way to support Black liberation and racial equity at large in this moment.
